The United States Mint comes one step closer to closing out its 2013 product line-up of America the Beautiful Quarters® with its Mount Rushmore America the Beautiful Quarters Three-Coin Set.
This set goes on sale beginning at Noon (Eastern) on November 19, 2013. Found within the set are three different quarter-dollars depicting an image emblematic of Mount Rushmore National Memorial of South Dakota.
United States Mint Sculptor-Engraver Joseph Menna designed the image found on the reverse or tails side of each coin. It was inspired by classic photos of workers completing the final details on Thomas Jefferson’s sculpture on the memorial. In the distance, a profile view of the George Washington portion of the sculpture can be seen.
The collector-grade Mount Rushmore quarters in the three-coin set are attached to a plastic display card. These include:
- one uncirculated quarter from the Philadelphia Mint
- one uncirculated quarter from the Denver Mint
- one proof quarter from the San Francisco Mint
As seen further above, shown on the front of the display card is a photographic image of the memorial.
As seen directly above, the backside offers information on the national site, coin specifications and a U.S. Mint Certificate of Authenticity.
