The Grand Canyon America the Beautiful Quarters Three-Coin Set will hit the streets Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at 12 noon Eastern Time for a price of $14.95.
The product represents the last set assembled by the United States Mint to feature the 2010 Grand Canyon National Park Quarter.
The three-coin set includes a 2010-P uncirculated park quarter, a 2010-D uncirculated park quarter, and a 2010-S proof park quarter. Each clad coin is enclosed in its own clear coin holder and all three are mounted together on a durable plastic card. On the back of the card is a Certificate of Authenticity and a brief description of the Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona and the coin’s reverse design.
The Grand Canyon Quarter design features a tiny view of the granaries above the Nankoweap Delta in Marble Canyon near the Colorado River. The actual location is found in the northernmost section of the Grand Canyon. Inscriptions include GRAND CANYON, ARIZONA, 2010 and E PLURIBUS UNUM.
The obverse side of the America the Beautiful Quarter has the familiar portrait of George Washington by John Flanagan, which the US Mint restored to bring out subtle details and the beauty of the original model. Inscriptions are UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST andQUARTER DOLLAR.
The Grand Canyon National Park Quarter was placed into circulation on September 20, 2010 and released in a ceremony one day later. It has been a part of many sets by the United States Mint, but the three coin set offers collectors a way to acquire all three mint-marked coins without purchasing more expensive annual sets.
In the table below are other products that contain Grand Canyon quarters. Their prices have been updated to reflect the latest changes for the silver products, although two are temporarily suspended while the Mint evaluates their next price update.
