Denali America the Beautiful Quarters Three-Coin Sets were released by the United States Mint today, December 4, 2012.
It is the last expected product from the U.S. Mint this year to contain an America the Beautiful Quarter. In this case, the product has three Denali National Park and Preserve quarters. Each is produced specifically for coin collectors with a proof or uncirculated finish. Within the three-coin set is an:
- uncirculated quarter from the Philadelphia Mint, an
- uncirculated quarter from the Denver Mint, and a
- proof quarter from the San Francisco Mint
The America the Beautiful Quarters are mounted on a plastic card that includes a brief description of Denali National Park and Preserve in Alaska and the coin design, as well as a Certificate of Authenticity on the back.
Denali Quarters Three-Coin Sets are available from the United States Mint website at http://www.usmint.gov for $9.95. Orders may also be placed by phone at 1-800-USA-MINT (872-6468).
America the Beautiful Quarters Three-Coin Sets have been produced the Mint since 2010. Like the individual quarters, there have been five released each year. All of the older sets remain on sale, although the first and second year issues are higher in price at $14.95.
Denali America the Beautiful quarters were released into circulation on November 5, 2012 — the same time they were made available by the U.S. Mint in bags and rolls. These coins were in circulating quality, however, versus the collector proof and uncirculated qualities of the coins within Denali America the Beautiful Quarters Three-Coin Sets.
Shown on the reverse "tails" side of the Denali National Park and Preserve coin is a scene designed by Susan Gamble of a Dall sheep and Mount McKinley. Inscriptions are DENALI, ALASKA, 2012 and E PLURIBUS UNUM. The heads side has the traditional portrait of George Washington along with the inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST and QUARTER DOLLAR.
