Single rolls, two-roll sets and bags of Everglades National Park Quarters may be ordered from the United States Mint beginning at noon EST on Monday, November 3, 2014.
Monday is also when this fifth and last America the Beautiful Quarter for the year is set to enter circulation, but finding them in change will be extremely difficult for a long time to come. Local banks cannot order quarters by design from the Federal Reserve, or by the U.S. Mint facility that makes them — and there are three of those.
Depicting the national park in Florida, Everglades quarters from the U.S. Mint are offered in six product options that range in price from $18.95 to $46.95. They include:
|QUARTER PRODUCT||MINT MARK||PRICE|
|Two-Roll Set (40 coins per roll)||"P" and "D"||$32.95|
|100-Coin Bags||"P," "D" or "S"||$34.95|
|Single Roll (40 coins)||"S"||$18.95|
|Three-Roll Set||"P," "D" and "S"||$46.95|
The "Mint Mark" column with the letters denotes where the quarters were produced — in the Philadelphia Mint, Denver Mint or San Francisco Mint. Many collectors of U.S. quarters want at least one quarter from each location. Mint marks are found on quarter obverses (heads sides) to the right of George Washington’s portrait and below the inscription IN GOD WE TRUST.
America the Beautiful Quarters from Philadelphia and Denver are struck for use in commerce. Those from San Francisco are made specifically for coin collectors. They will not be found in circulation even down the road.
Where to Order the Rolls, Sets and Bags
Everglades National Park Quarters may be ordered from the United States Mint by web at www.usmint.gov/catalog or phone at 1-800-USA-MINT (872-6468). The Mint’s product page dedicated to America the Beautiful Quarters is located here.
Design on 2014 Everglades National Park Quarters
2014 Everglades Quarters have reverses inspired by birds found in the national park. Designed by Joel Iskowitz and sculpted by Joseph Menna, there is an anhinga with outstretched wings on a willow tree with a roseate spoonbill visible in the mid-ground.
Inscriptions include EVERGLADES, FLORIDA, 2014, and E PLURIBUS UNUM.
2014 America the Beautiful Quarters
The first America the Beautiful Quarter was introduced in 2010 and, at a rate of five different each year, there will be 56 by the time the series is set to end in 2021. In addition to this latest release, this year’s quarters include:
- Great Smoky Mountains National Park Quarters honoring the site in Tennessee were released on January 27.
- Shenandoah National Park Quarters honoring the site in Virginia were released on March 31.
- Arches National Park Quarters honoring the site in Utah were released on June 9.
- Great Sand Dunes National Park Quarters honoring the site in Colorado were released on August 25.
America the Beautiful Quarters for 2014 represent the twenty-first through twenty-fifth in the series.
