This product makes its sales debut at 12:00 Noon ET on January 8, 2013. All the coins within the proof set feature sharp reliefs and mirror-like backgrounds, a type of finish collectors find most desirable. They are struck at the San Francisco Mint and carry the "S" mint mark.

The 2013 America the Beautiful Quarters Silver Proof Set includes the newest America the Beautiful Quarters composed from 90% silver and 10% copper. These five 2013 quarters are:

  • 2013-S White Mountain National Forest Quarter (New Hampshire)
  • 2013-S Perry’s Victory and International Peace Memorial Quarter (Ohio)
  • 2013-S Great Basin National Park Quarter (Nevada)
  • 2013-S Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine Quarter (Maryland)
  • 2013-S Mount Rushmore National Memorial Quarter (South Dakota)

The U.S. Mint only recently revealed these quarters’ designs.

Silver Proof Set Price & Set’s Silver Value

This year’s 2013 America the Beautiful Quarters Silver Proof Set is priced at $41.95, which is the same as the previous proof set when it debuted January 10, 2012. The inaugural set from 2010 started at $32.95 when the price of silver was much cheaper (close to $18 an ounce).

The combined weight of the silver coins sums to 0.904 troy ounces, making each set’s silver melt value $27.13 based on the price of silver at $30.00 an ounce. Last year’s set launched when silver was at $29.69 an ounce, which explains recent pricing. If silver prices fluctuate significantly, the U.S. Mint reserves the option to change its product prices up or down. That has happened in the past for some silver sets.
