The US Mint is launching their 2010 America the Beautiful Quarters Uncirculated Coin Set on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at noon ET.

The set contains collector uncirculated-quality quarters from both Mint facilities, Philadelphia and Denver, for each of the five 2010 quarter designs. The 2010 quarters honor Hot Springs National Park (Arkansas), Yellowstone National Park (Wyoming), Yosemite National Park (California), Grand Canyon National Park (Arizona), and Mount Hood National Forest (Oregon). These coins are unlike the circulating varieties in that special care were used in their creation, as they feature a special satin finish.

The America the Beautiful Quarters Uncirculated Coin Set was originally announced in May as part of the Mint’s subscription program, but a date had not been planned for release. (The subscription program is much like a magazine subscription where a product gets shipped when it is eventually available.) The release date and the opportunity to buy just the 2010 Quarters Uncirculated Coin Set directly from the US Mint was only announced recently.

This ten-coin set is priced at $21.95 and may be purchased online at www.usmint.gov/catalog or by phone at 1-800-USA-MINT (872-6468). There is a $4.95 shipping and handling fee for all domestic orders.

The Uncirculated Coin Set marks the fourth exclusive 2010 America the Beautiful Quarters Set featuring all five new quarter designs. The first three were the America the Beautiful Quarters Proof Set ($14.95), America the Beautiful Quarters Silver Proof Set ($32.95), and the America the Beautiful Quarters Circulating Coin Set ($9.95). Of course, the newly designed quarters are also part of three more common annual sets, the 2010 United States Mint Uncirculated Coin Set ($31.95), the 2010 United States Mint Proof Set ($31.95) and the 2010 Silver Proof Set ($56.95).

A total of fifty-six coins are scheduled in the America the Beautiful Quarters Program, which runs from 2010 through 2021. Each quarter in the series will honor a different national site, one for each state, the five US territories, and the District of Columbia. The selections for each quarter and year have already been made and include national parks, forests, monuments, and sites.
